JS van Buskirk (Stephanie Paulk) lived, worked, and created art in Atlanta, Georgia. A former attorney, she spent her last days in Decatur with her husband, poet Randy Prunty (inventor of the Pruntiform), and their dog Bettie. For the last 20 years of her life, JS wrote, drew, and created community arts events. Among her notable accomplishments are the “Spot the Dog” series of cartoons published by the Columbia Daily Spectator during her time at Columbia University, the “Opoyul~ Trading Cards” created for the Art-o-Mat Vending Machine and her two books, Tiny Bedtime Stories and Just Got No Hustle. Van Buskirk was a long-time member of the Atlanta Poets Group, read at the Decatur Book Festival and her poetry has been published in the JAB (Journal of Artists’ Books) and Moria. She founded the Info Demo series at the Eyedrum gallery in Atlanta, GA.
